Jennifer Hudson: podcast appearances and interviews

Jennifer Kate Hudson, born on September 12, 1981, is an American singer, actress, producer, and talk show host. She gained prominence as a finalist on the third season of American Idol in 2004. Hudson released her self-titled debut studio album in 2008, which reached number two on the Billboard 200 and earned her a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. Her subsequent albums, I Remember Me and JHUD, both peaked within the top ten of the Billboard 200, and she is set to release her fourth album, The Gift of Love, in 2024, her first solo project in a decade. Hudson made her film debut as Effie White in the musical Dreamgirls in 2006, winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and becoming the youngest African-American recipient of the award. She has also portrayed Aretha Franklin in the biopic Respect and appeared in numerous films including Sex and the City, The Secret Life of Bees, Winnie Mandela, Black Nativity, Sing, Cats, and Goat. Her television appearances include roles in Smash, Empire, and Confirmation. On stage, she starred in the Broadway revival of The Color Purple and was a producer of the Tony Award-winning musical A Strange Loop. Hudson served as a coach on both the British and American versions of The Voice from 2017 to 2019, becoming the first female coach to lead a winning team on the British edition.
