Jeffrey Hunter, born Henry Herman McKinnies Jr. on November 25, 1926, was an American film and television actor and producer. He is recognized for his performances in notable films such as The Searchers and King of Kings. In addition to his film career, Hunter is known for his role as Captain Christopher Pike in the original pilot episode of Star Trek: The Original Series in 1965. He passed away on May 27, 1969. As the CEO of the National Parks Conservation Association, his leadership continues to influence environmental advocacy and the preservation of national parks.
