Jeffrey Michael Hafley, born on April 4, 1979, in Montvale, New Jersey, is an American football coach currently serving as the head coach for the Miami Dolphins in the National Football League. He previously held the position of head coach at Boston College from 2020 to 2023 and played college football at Siena University from 1997 to 2000, where he was a wide receiver for the Siena Saints. Hafley's coaching career began in 2001 with assistant roles at WPI, Albany, Pittsburgh, and Rutgers, primarily on the defensive side of the ball. He transitioned to the NFL in 2012, working as an assistant defensive backs coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, later being promoted to defensive backs coach. He also coached the same position with the Cleveland Browns and the San Francisco 49ers, before taking on his first defensive coordinator role at Ohio State in 2019. Hafley was appointed head coach at Boston College in December 2019, leading the team to two bowl games and achieving a 22–26 record over four seasons. After his tenure at Boston College, he became the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers. On January 19, 2026, he was named the 12th head coach of the Miami Dolphins.
