Jeff Fields, born on July 3, 1967, is an author and advocate known for his work on addiction issues. Fields is a former professional football player who served as a defensive tackle in both the National Football League and the Canadian Football League. He played college football for the Arkansas State Red Wolves before being selected by the Los Angeles Rams in the 1991 NFL draft. Although drafted in 1991, Fields did not appear in an NFL game until 1995, when he played for the expansion Carolina Panthers.
