Jay Williams: podcast appearances and interviews

Jay Williams is the foundation president and CEO of the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation. Prior to his current role, he was a professional basketball player in the National Basketball Association, having played for the Chicago Bulls. Williams played college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils, where he was part of the team that won the 2001 NCAA Championship. He received recognition as the NABC Player of the Year in 2001 and 2002. Williams was drafted second overall in the 2002 NBA draft by the Chicago Bulls. His playing career was cut short following a motorcycle crash in 2003, which effectively ended his time as a professional athlete. Despite this, he continued to pursue basketball through the NBA Development League with the Austin Toros in 2006, but his season was prematurely ended due to lingering effects from the accident. Following his retirement from playing, Williams transitioned into a career as a television analyst. He has worked with ESPN, beginning with college basketball coverage and later focusing on the NBA. In 2019, he was added to ESPN's NBA Countdown program, where he has served as a full-time analyst. His experience as both a former player and an analyst informs his current leadership role within the Greater Hartford Gives Foundation.
