Jay Watson: podcast appearances and interviews

Jay Watson is an Australian musician known for his work as a multi-instrumentalist, producer, mixer, singer, and songwriter. He is a touring member of the psychedelic band Tame Impala and a co-founder of the band Pond, with whom he has recorded ten albums. Watson also records solo material under the name GUM, having released seven solo studio albums as of 2026. In addition to his solo work, Watson collaborates with fellow Pond member James Ireland as the duo GUM & Ginoli, remixing songs by various artists and contributing production and mixing for solo projects of other musicians. His collaborations extend to members of other bands such as King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, where he works with Ambrose Kenny-Smith as part of the duo GUM with Kenny-Smith, releasing the album Ill Times in 2024. Watson's discography includes contributions to ten studio albums, one live album, and two extended plays with Pond; multiple releases under the GUM moniker; and work with Tame Impala. He has also been involved in remixes and production for various emerging acts. His musical activities span collaborations, solo projects, and contributions across several prominent psychedelic and alternative rock projects.
