Jane Anderson is an American playwright, screenwriter, filmmaker, and actress. She has written and directed the feature film The Prize Winner of Defiance, Ohio, released in 2005. Additionally, she wrote the screenplay for the film It Could Happen to You, which was released in 1994 and starred Nicolas Cage. Anderson's work has been recognized with critical acclaim, including winning the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her contribution to the miniseries Olive Kitteridge in 2014.
