James Metcalfe Campbell Bower is an English actor, singer, and musician born on 22 November 1988. He is recognized for his portrayal of Henry Creel and Vecna in the popular science fiction horror series Stranger Things, appearing in its fourth and fifth seasons and earning critical acclaim for his performance. Bower's acting career includes roles in notable films such as Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street released in 2007, as well as involvement in The Twilight Saga from 2009 to 2012. He also played the young Gellert Grindelwald in the films Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. His television work includes the fantasy series Camelot in 2011 and the drama series Will in 2017. Outside of his acting pursuits, Bower has been active in the music industry. He was the lead singer and guitarist of the punk rock band Counterfeit from 2015 until 2020, at which point he left to pursue a solo career. In 2024, he founded a new band called BloodMagic.
