James Comer: podcast appearances and interviews

James Richardson Comer Jr. is an American politician serving as the U.S. Representative for Kentucky's 1st congressional district. A member of the Republican Party, he has held this position since 2016, after winning both a full term and a special election to succeed Ed Whitfield. Prior to his time in Congress, Comer served as Kentucky's agriculture commissioner from 2012 to 2016 and was a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives from 2000 to 2012. He also sought the Republican nomination for governor of Kentucky in 2015 but was unsuccessful.

As of 2023, Comer serves as the chair of the House Oversight Committee. In this role, he has shifted focus from investigations into former president Donald Trump to examining President Joe Biden and his family, although as of August 2024, no evidence has emerged linking Biden directly to his family's business activities. Upon Biden's withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race, Comer expanded his inquiries to include Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz, who were the Democratic presidential and vice-presidential nominees for that cycle.
