Jaden Christopher Syre Smith, born on July 8, 1998, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, and dancer. He is the son of Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith. Smith has received various awards and nominations, including a Teen Choice Award, an MTV Movie Award, a BET Award, a Young Artist Award, and a Grammy Award nomination. He has also won two NAACP Image Awards and an Empire Award. Smith made his film debut alongside his father in the 2006 film The Pursuit of Happyness and appeared with him again in the 2013 film After Earth. He co-starred in the remake films The Day the Earth Stood Still in 2008 and The Karate Kid in 2010. After a three-year hiatus, he returned to acting in 2016, starring in the Netflix series The Get Down and providing voice work in the anime series Neo Yokio. As a recording artist, Smith first gained recognition by guest performing on Justin Bieber’s 2010 single Never Say Never. The song, released for The Karate Kid soundtrack, reached the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100 and received quintuple platinum certification from the RIAA. He released multiple mixtapes including CTV2 in 2014. His debut studio album, Syre, was released in 2017 after signing with Roc Nation and Interscope Records, and peaked at number 24 on the Billboard 200. His subsequent albums Erys and CTV3: Cool Tape Vol. 3 reached number 12 and number 44 respectively. In 2022, he was nominated for a Grammy Award for Album of the Year as a featured artist on Bieber's album Justice.
