John Richard Mason, known as Jack Mason, was an English first-class cricketer who played for Kent between 1893 and 1914. He served as the team's captain from 1898 to 1902 and represented England in five Test matches during the 1897-98 tour of Australia led by A. E. Stoddart. Mason was a tall athlete, standing over six feet, and was recognized as a genuine all-rounder who contributed both as a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast-medium pace bowler. Wisden Cricketers' Almanack regarded him as one of the finest amateur all-rounders to play for Kent and named him one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1898.
