Jack Philip Barsky was born Albrecht Dittrich on May 18, 1949. He is an author and has held executive technology roles, including chief information officer at a Fortune 500 energy firm. Previously, Barsky was an operative for the KGB and carried out espionage activities on the United States from 1978 to 1988. His cover was blown after the end of the Cold War, leading to his cooperation with U.S. counterintelligence agencies. Throughout his career, he has been a resource for U.S. authorities and later held senior technology positions at major American corporations. Barsky was not charged with any crimes and was permitted to remain in the United States. In 2017, he published an autobiography titled Deep Undercover, sharing insights into his experiences.
