Ivan Cleary, born on 1 March 1971, is an Australian professional rugby league coach and former player. He is currently the head coach of the Penrith Panthers in the National Rugby League (NRL). During his playing career, Cleary was a goal-kicking fullback and centre, competing for club teams in Australia and New Zealand during the 1990s and 2000s. Notably, he set a record for the most points scored in a season during the 1998 NRL Premiership. Transitioning into coaching, Cleary has led several teams including the Wests Tigers and New Zealand Warriors before achieving significant success with the Penrith Panthers. Under his leadership, the Panthers won four consecutive NRL Premierships in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024, becoming the first coach in the NRL era to secure four straight premierships.
