Isaiah Rashad Joel McClain, born on May 16, 1991, is an American rapper and singer. He first gained recognition in 2012 through his performances on the Smoker's Club Tour, sharing the stage with rappers Juicy J, Joey Badass, and Smoke DZA. McClain is a founding member of the Chattanooga, Tennessee-based hip-hop collective TheHouse, which includes rappers YGTUT, Michael Da Vinci, Chris P, and Brian Brown. He signed with Top Dawg Entertainment, a record label based in Carson, California, and released his debut EP, Cilvia Demo, in 2014. The EP was met with universal acclaim, marked his first entry on the Billboard 200 chart, and contributed to his inclusion in XXL Magazine's 2014 Annual Freshman Class issue. His debut studio album, The Sun’s Tirade, was released in 2016 and received continued praise, peaking at number 17 on the Billboard 200. McClain later signed with Warner Bros. Records to release his second album, The House Is Burning, in 2021, which was highly anticipated and well received. After a five-year hiatus, he released his third studio album titled It's Been Awful in May 2026, continuing his streak of critical acclaim.
