Ian Williams, born on August 31, 1970, is an American musician known for his work as a rock guitarist and singer-songwriter. He has gained recognition for his distinctive finger tapping guitar playing style. Williams has performed with bands such as Don Caballero, Storm & Stress, and currently with Battles. He is also known for his one-handed guitar technique, which often involves playing keyboards or Ableton Push concurrently with the other hand. Beyond his performance career, Williams serves as a professor of English and the director of the Creative Writing program. He is also an academic advisor for the Massey College William Southam.
