Howard Michael Johnson, born on November 29, 1960, is an American professional with a background as a former Major League Baseball player and a current consulting actuary and podcast host. During his baseball career, he played as a third baseman, shortstop, and outfielder for the Detroit Tigers, New York Mets, Colorado Rockies, and Chicago Cubs from 1982 to 1995. He made his MLB debut with the Tigers in 1982 and was part of the 1984 World Series-winning team. Johnson was traded to the Mets after the 1984 season, where he achieved notable success, including winning a second World Series in 1986. He was a two-time All-Star and notably led the National League in home runs and runs batted in during 1991. Johnson concluded his playing career with the Rockies in 1994 and the Cubs in 1995, and he remains prominent in Mets history, ranking third on the team's all-time lists for home runs, runs batted in, doubles, and stolen bases. He has been inducted into the New York Mets Hall of Fame for his contributions.
