Helen Hall: podcast appearances and interviews

Helen Hall is a music and film memorabilia appraiser and the founder of Dig Appraisals. She previously held the position of vice-president at Christie's and served as Head of Entertainment Memorabilia at Christie's in New York. During her tenure at Christie's, Hall was involved in auctioning notable collections and celebrity estates, including those of Marlon Brando, Clark Gable, Stan Laurel, John Lennon, and others. She has contributed to auctions featuring artifacts such as Marlon Brando's script for The Godfather, John Lennon's handwritten lyrics for Give Peace A Chance, and the drum from the cover of the Beatles LP Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. As an auctioneer and appraiser, Hall has worked with musicians, actors, directors, private collectors, auction houses, and museums on the research, appraisal, and valuation of music and film memorabilia. In 2008, she established Dig Appraisals to assist public figures and institutions in preserving and archiving career-related assets. Her work includes collaborations with entities such as the David Bowie Archive, the Tom Petty Estate, and the Audrey Hepburn Foundation. She has privately brokered sales of high-profile memorabilia, including Kurt Cobain's Fender Mustang guitar. Hall has also provided consultancy services to auction houses including Christie's, Bonhams, and Phillips, and works closely with museums such as the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Most recently, she advised Christie's on the record-breaking Jim Irsay auction, which grossed $94.5 million and set new records for memorabilia sales.
