Harlan Ellison

Harlan Jay Ellison was an American writer born on May 27, 1934, and he passed away on June 28, 2018. He was known for his extensive and influential contributions to New Wave speculative fiction. Ellison authored more than 1,700 works, encompassing short stories, novellas, screenplays, comic-book scripts, teleplays, essays, and a variety of critical writings across literature, film, television, and print media. His most notable works include the 1967 Star Trek episode 'The City on the Edge of Forever,' which is regarded as one of the best episodes in the franchise. He also wrote the 'A Boy and His Dog' cycle, which was adapted into a film, and gained recognition for stories such as 'I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream' and ''Repent, Harlequin!' Said the Ticktockman.' Ellison was the editor and anthologist of the influential anthologies 'Dangerous Visions' and 'Again, Dangerous Visions.' He was recognized with numerous awards, including multiple Hugos, Nebulas, and Edgars, acknowledging his significant impact on literature and media.
