Hannah Mitchell: podcast appearances and interviews

Hannah Mitchell was an English suffragette and socialist born on 11 February 1872. She was raised in a poor farming family in Derbyshire and left home at a young age to work as a seamstress in Bolton. During her time in Bolton, she became involved in the socialist movement. Mitchell's activism extended over many years and included work within organizations dedicated to socialism, women's suffrage, and pacifism. Following World War I, she was elected to Manchester City Council and served as a magistrate. Later in her career, she worked for Keir Hardie, a prominent Labour Party leader. Mitchell's contributions to social justice and political activism are noted within the history of British socialism and women's rights.
