Hannah Gizelle Cooper, born on June 10, 1979, is a Liberian athlete known for her participation in hurdling events. She competed in the women's 100 meters hurdles at the 2000 Summer Olympics, where she was seeded in the fifth heat and finished seventh with a time of 13.51 seconds. Although she did not advance beyond the heats, her participation marked a significant achievement in her athletic career. Cooper was born in Liberia and grew up in Hawthorne, California, where she competed for Hawthorne High School. As a junior in 1996, she posted the sixth-fastest 300 meters hurdles prep time in the United States. She attended the University of Colorado at Boulder, competing for the Colorado Buffaloes track and field team. During her time there, she was a multiple-time All-American and placed seventh in the 100 meters hurdles at the 2002 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Cooper shares a familial connection to Liberia through her grandfather, John Lewis Cooper, a notable businessman and government official.
