Haitham Mattar is a Lebanese-American business executive currently serving as the CEO of IHG Hotels & Resorts. He has a background in the tourism and hospitality sectors, having held significant roles in tourism development and strategy. Prior to his current position, Mattar was the CEO of the Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority, where he played a key role in transforming Ras Al Khaimah into a rapidly growing international tourism destination. During his tenure, he exceeded the goal of one million visitors within the first three years and was responsible for the concept and delivery of major tourism projects including the Jebel Jais Flight, known at the time as the world's longest zipline, and the region’s first Via Ferrata. Mattar also contributed to Saudi Arabia’s tourism sector by advising the Ministry of Tourism on developing and implementing its tourism strategy. In April 2021, he was appointed as the Managing Director for India, Middle East & Africa at IHG Hotels & Resorts.
