Greig Francis Gilbert was a British musician, singer, songwriter, visual artist, and poet. He is best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the indie band Delays. Gilbert was recognized for his wide vocal range, with his frequent use of his upper register becoming a distinctive characteristic of his singing style. His vocals were often compared to those of Elizabeth Fraser and Stevie Nicks. Born in Southampton, he was the eldest of two children. His brother Aaron joined Delays in 2003 as the band's keyboard player and co-writer on many of their tracks.
