Grant Henry Hill, born October 5, 1972, is an American professional basketball executive and former player. He is a co-owner of the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association and a part-owner of Orlando City SC of Major League Soccer as well as Orlando Pride of the National Women's Soccer League. Hill is also part of an ownership group that purchased the Baltimore Orioles in 2024. In addition to his ownership roles, he works as a basketball analyst for CBS, NBC, and Turner Sports. Hill played college basketball at Duke University, where he was recognized as one of the greatest college basketball players ever. His achievements include being the 1994 Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year, a two-time NCAA All-American, and a two-time NCAA champion. Drafted third overall in the 1994 NBA draft by the Detroit Pistons, Hill was the co-winner of the 1995 NBA Rookie of the Year Award alongside Jason Kidd. During his NBA career, he played primarily at the small forward position for the Pistons, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, and Los Angeles Clippers. Hill was a seven-time NBA All-Star, a five-time All-NBA selection, and a three-time NBA Sportsmanship Award winner. Early in his career, he was regarded as one of the best all-around players, often leading his teams in points, rebounds, and assists. An ankle injury in 2000 impacted his play and led to significant health complications, causing him to miss an entire season. Hill retired from professional basketball on June 1, 2013, after a career that included a Western Conference Finals appearance in 2010.
