Gloria Jene Browne-Marshall, born December 31, 1959, is an American civil rights attorney, legal correspondent, author, playwright, essayist, and racial justice activist. She serves as a professor of constitutional law at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, part of the City University of New York. Browne-Marshall has previously taught Africana Studies at Vassar College. As a legal commentator, she has provided insights on various Supreme Court decisions, impeachments, and constitutional issues related to civilian deaths, criminal law, and racial justice. Her expertise has been featured on media outlets including CNN, NPR, BBC, MSNBC, CBS, and WVON. She is an Emmy Award-winning writer and host of the program Your Democracy. She hosts the Law of the Land, a radio show broadcast on WBAI in New York on Tuesday mornings. In addition to her academic and media work, Browne-Marshall is the president of Rally Forward, an activist group based in New Jersey.
