Gerry McNamara: podcast appearances and interviews

Gerard Thomas McNamara, born on August 28, 1983, is an American basketball coach and former player. He played as a guard for Syracuse University from 2002 to 2006, during which he was known for his durability, never missing a start. McNamara played a significant role in leading Syracuse to the 2003 national championship. After his college career, he pursued a professional playing career with teams including Panionios BC, Olympiacos BC, the Bakersfield Jam, BK Ventspils, and the Reno Bighorns. In 2009, he retired from professional play and returned to Syracuse as a graduate student and assistant coach. He served as an associate head coach at Syracuse before taking on the role of head coach at Siena, a position he held from 2024 to 2026. Subsequently, he returned to Syracuse as its head coach at the beginning of the 2026 offseason.
