George Pappas: podcast appearances and interviews

George Sotiros Pappas was a former United States immigration judge and a scholar with a background in philosophy. Born in 1942 and passing away in 2025, he was of Greek and English descent. Pappas was known for his academic work as a professor of philosophy at Ohio State University, where he specialized in epistemology, the history of early modern philosophy, philosophy of religion, and metaphysics. His contributions to philosophical scholarship include authoring the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy entry on internalist and externalist conceptions of epistemic justification. He also co-edited the anthology Essays on Knowledge and Justification, which addresses the Gettier problem and is used as a core text in undergraduate epistemology courses. In addition to his scholarly publications, Pappas served as an editorial consultant for Berkeley Studies. Later in his career, he was affiliated with Intraprise Health by Health Catalyst. His work bridged academic philosophy and practical applications, reflecting a broad engagement with both theoretical and professional spheres.
