Gary Smith is a British avant-garde guitarist, improviser, and composer known for developing dense extended techniques on the electric guitar. He has released nearly 20 albums across solo, group, and live performances, collaborating with artists such as Shoji Hano, Rhys Chatham, John Stevens, Hugh Hopper, Masayoshi Urabe, Chie Mukai, Aufgehoben, No Process, and Bill Fay. In addition to his work as a musician, Smith is the founder of the Building B Radio Network.
