Garrison Starr, born Julia Garrison Starr on April 29, 1975, is an American singer-songwriter and producer who has received a Grammy nomination. Her major label debut album, 18 Over Me, was released in 1997 through Geffen Records. Her live performances have been described as combining pop sensibilities with Americana grit, featuring her voice's notable power and clarity. Since her debut, Starr has released over a dozen EPs and LPs, and her music has been featured in various television shows and movies, including Grey's Anatomy, Pretty Little Liars, Nashville, Hart of Dixie, Switched at Birth, Rookie Blue, Army Wives, and Brothers & Sisters. Her songs have also been used in commercial placements for brands such as Pandora, Virgin Mobile, McDonald's, and Fisher Price. Starr has written songs for other artists, including Greg Holden, Kris Allen, and Royal Wood. In 2016, she took on additional roles as producer and co-writer for Margaret Cho's album American Myth, which received a Grammy nomination.
