Frank Schaeffer, born on August 3, 1952, is an American author, film director, screenwriter, and public speaker. He is the son of theologian and author Francis Schaeffer. Schaeffer has directed films in Hollywood and has written several novels that depict life in a strict evangelical household. His works include titles such as Portofino, Zermatt, and Saving Grandma. Initially, Schaeffer was a conservative, fundamentalist Christian; however, his views have evolved over time. He has become a liberal Democrat and identifies as a Christian atheist. Schaeffer currently resides north of Boston, where he continues his work and public engagement.
