Eric Brewer: podcast appearances and interviews

Eric Allen Brewer is the deputy vice-president of the Nuclear Threat Initiative. He is also a professor emeritus of computer science at the University of California, Berkeley. Brewer's research interests include operating systems and distributed computing. He is best known for formulating the CAP theorem regarding distributed network applications in the late 1990s. In 1996, he co-founded Inktomi Corporation, which was acquired by Yahoo! in 2003. During the dot-com bubble, he became a paper billionaire. Brewer collaborated with the United States federal government under President Bill Clinton to help create USA.gov, which was launched in 2000. His research also includes a wireless networking scheme called WiLDNet, aimed at providing low-cost connectivity to rural areas of the developing world. Since 2011, he has been working at Google, contributing to infrastructure and technology development.
