Emmanuel Jean-Michel Frédéric Macron, born on December 21, 1977, in Amiens, is a French politician serving as the President of France since 2017. He founded the centrist and pro-European political movement La République En Marche! in 2016, after previously being a member of the Socialist Party between 2006 and 2009. Macron studied philosophy at Paris Nanterre University, completed a master's degree in public affairs at Sciences Po, and graduated from the École nationale d'administration in 2004. He worked as a senior civil servant at the General Inspectorate of Finance and as an investment banker at Rothschild & Co. macron also served as a senior adviser to President François Hollande before being appointed Deputy Secretary-General to the President from 2012 to 2014 and Minister of Economics and Finance from 2014 to 2016. During his presidency, Macron has overseen reforms in labour laws, taxation, pensions, and energy transition, and has responded to the COVID-19 pandemic.
