Edward Yardeni, born on March 15, 1950, is an Israeli-born American economist and the president of Yardeni Research, a firm that provides economic research and recommendations to clients. He has previously served as the chief economist for EF Hutton, Prudential Securities, and C. J. Lawrence. Yardeni is recognized for coining the 'Fed model,' a theory of equity valuation that has been subject to dispute, as well as the term 'bond vigilante.' He typically forecasts positive trends for the stock market, although some of his predictions have been incorrect, such as his 1999 forecast regarding disruptions caused by the Year 2000 problem.
