Drew Miller is the Deputy Director of the Teachers and Teaching Research Centre at the University of Newcastle. Although born in 1984, Miller's professional background is notably in ice hockey, where he played as a winger. He was drafted in the sixth round, 186th overall, in the 2003 NHL entry draft and made his NHL debut on April 19, 2007, playing for the Anaheim Ducks in a game against the Minnesota Wild.
