Tracy Lamar McGrady Jr. is an American former professional basketball player known for his career in the National Basketball Association. He was born on May 24, 1979, and is widely regarded as one of the greatest scorers and shooting guards in NBA history. McGrady is a seven-time NBA All-Star, seven-time All-NBA selection, and a two-time NBA scoring champion, receiving the NBA Most Improved Player Award in 2001. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2017.

McGrady entered the NBA straight out of high school and was the ninth overall pick in the 1997 NBA draft, selected by the Toronto Raptors. Starting with limited minutes, he gradually increased his role with the team and developed a notable partnership with Vince Carter. In 2000, McGrady transferred to the Orlando Magic, where he became a prolific scorer and an MVP candidate. His career later included a trade to the Houston Rockets in 2004, where he teamed up with center Yao Ming to make the Rockets a consistent playoff contender. Injuries in his final seasons led to his retirement in 2013 after brief stints with the Qingdao DoubleStar Eagles in China and the San Antonio Spurs.

Following his retirement, McGrady has been involved in basketball as an analyst for ESPN. Additionally, he pursued a brief career in professional baseball, pitching for the Sugar Land Skeeters of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball from April to July 2014.
