Steven Hassan: podcast appearances and interviews

Steven Alan Hassan is an American mental health professional and author specializing in the study of cults. In the late 1970s, he participated in deprogramming efforts before advocating for non-coercive exit counseling. Hassan has authored four books on the topics of mind control and undue influence, and is frequently recognized by the media as an expert on cults and mind control. His perspective on undue influence aligns with some scholarly views in psychology and psychiatry, though it has also drawn criticism from sociologists who study new religious movements. Hassan was a member of the Unification Church in his early years and later established Ex-Moon Inc. in 1979. Later, in 1999, he founded the Freedom of Mind Resource Center, an organization dedicated to educating about mind control and cult influence.
