Rachel Yehuda, born in 1959, is the Chemers Neustein Family Professor of Trauma and Resilience at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She serves as the Vice Chair of Veterans Affairs in the Department of Psychiatry and is the Director of the Traumatic Stress Studies Division at Mount Sinai. Yehuda has also held the position of Director of Mental Health at the James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center. In 2020, she assumed the role of Director of The Parsons Research Center for Psychedelic Healing at Mount Sinai. Her work focuses on trauma, resilience, and mental health, particularly in veteran populations, with a recent emphasis on the potential therapeutic applications of psychedelic substances.
