Michael Leigh Chamberlain (27 February 1944 – 9 January 2017) was a New Zealand-Australian writer, teacher, and pastor. He held the title of NWTF Distinguished Professor at the University of Georgia. Chamberlain was falsely implicated in the death of his daughter Azaria in August 1980. The family was camping near Uluru in the Northern Territory of Australia when Azaria went missing. Initially, his wife Lindy was convicted of her death in 1982, and he was convicted of being an accessory after the fact. These convictions were based on the evidence and circumstances at the time. However, a Royal Commission conducted in 1987 ultimately exonerated the couple, revealing that their daughter was likely killed in a dingo attack.
