Mark Galeotti, born on 15 October 1965, is a British historian, lecturer, and writer specializing in transnational crime and Russian security affairs. He is the director of the consultancy Mayak Intelligence. Galeotti holds the position of honorary professor at the UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies and is an associate fellow in Euro-Atlantic geopolitics at the Council on Geostrategy. He has also been a senior associate fellow at the Royal United Services Institute. Through his academic and professional roles, Galeotti has contributed to the study and understanding of security issues related to Russia and its geopolitical environment.
