Dom Flemons: podcast appearances and interviews

Dom Flemons is an American musician recognized for his expertise in old-time music, Piedmont blues, and neotraditional country. As a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter, he has a repertoire that encompasses nearly a century of American folklore, ballads, and tunes. Known as The American Songster, Flemons has performed with various notable artists including Mike Seeger, Joe Thompson, Martin Simpson, Boo Hanks, Taj Mahal, Old Crow Medicine Show, Guy Davis, and The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band. He was a member of the Carolina Chocolate Drops from 2005 until 2013. Flemons has released five solo albums, including two collaborative works. His 2018 album Black Cowboys received nominations for a Grammy Award for Best Folk Album and a Blues Music Award in the Acoustic Album category. His 2023 album Traveling Wildfire was also nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Folk Album. Flemons is recognized for his contributions to preserving and interpreting American musical traditions and folklore.
