Desmond Meade: podcast appearances and interviews

Desmond Meade, born on July 22, 1967, is a voting rights activist and the President and Executive Director of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition. He played a pivotal role in leading Floridians for a Fair Democracy to successfully pass Florida Amendment 4 in 2018, a state initiative that restored voting rights to over 1.4 million Floridians with previous felony convictions. His leadership contributed to significant advancements in voting rights and civil liberties in Florida. In recognition of his impact, Meade was named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world in April 2019. He authored an autobiography titled Let's My People Vote: My Battle to Restore the Civil Rights of Returning Citizens, published in 2020. The following year, he was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship, commonly known as a Genius Grant, acknowledging his contributions to civil rights activism and voting rights advocacy.
