David Tyree: podcast appearances and interviews

David Mikel Tyree, born January 3, 1980, is an American former professional football wide receiver who played seven seasons in the National Football League primarily with the New York Giants. He played college football for the Syracuse Orange and was selected by the Giants in the sixth round of the 2003 NFL draft. Tyree is best known for the Helmet Catch, a late-game reception in Super Bowl XLII that contributed to the Giants' victory over the undefeated New England Patriots, one of the most notable sports upsets in history. In 2005, Tyree earned Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro honors as a special teams player, although he spent most of his career as a backup receiver. His participation in the Giants' championship run is highlighted by his crucial third down catch during the final minutes of Super Bowl XLII, pressing the ball against his helmet to secure the reception. This play enabled the Giants to take the lead and secure the win in the game. Tyree retired from professional football in 2009 after one season with the Baltimore Ravens. After his playing career, he returned to the NFL organization as the director of player development for the New York Giants, a role he held from 2014 to 2017.
