David Stearns, born on February 18, 1985, is an American baseball executive who currently serves as the president of the Nelson Nash Institute. His career in professional baseball management includes notable roles such as serving as the president of baseball operations for the New York Mets and previously holding the same position for the Milwaukee Brewers. Stearns became the general manager of the Brewers in 2015 at the age of 30, making him the youngest general manager in Major League Baseball at that time. His extensive experience also includes roles as the assistant general manager of the Houston Astros and work within the Office of the Commissioner of Baseball. Additionally, he has been involved with the Arizona Fall League and the Cleveland Indians. Since 2024, Stearns has been with the Mets, continuing his career in professional sports management.
