David Silverman, born on March 15, 1957, is an American animator, actor, producer, educator, and writer. He is known for his extensive work on the animated television series The Simpsons, having been involved since its inception. Silverman animated the original short Simpsons cartoons that aired on The Tracey Ullman Show and later served as a director of animation for the series. His contributions to animation also extend to feature films, including the 2007 adaptation of The Simpsons and the 2016 film The Edge of Seventeen, which was produced by Gracie Films.
