David Lat: podcast appearances and interviews

David Benjamin Lat, born June 19, 1975, is an American lawyer, author, and legal commentator. He is known for founding Above the Law, a website that covers law firms, the legal profession, and legal gossip. Lat attended Harvard University and Yale Law School, where he received his legal education. Following law school, he worked as a law clerk for Judge Diarmuid O'Scannain, became an associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, and served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the appeals division in the District of New Jersey. Lat initially gained attention as an anonymous blogger for the judicial gossip blog 'Underneath Their Robes.' He revealed his identity in a 2005 interview with Jeffrey Toobin in The New Yorker, after which he launched Above the Law. In addition to his legal journalism, Lat is also an author; his debut novel, Supreme Ambitions, was published in December 2014. Known as an attorney, writer, speaker, and family man, Lat has established a prominent presence in the legal community through his commentary and publication efforts.
