David C. Crowley, born on May 14, 1986, is an American politician currently serving as the 7th Milwaukee County executive. He has held this position since 2020 and is a member of the Democratic Party. Crowley's political career includes representing Wisconsin's 17th Assembly district from 2017 to 2020, a district that encompasses the west side of Milwaukee. His election as Milwaukee County executive marked several notable milestones; he is the first African American to serve as the county's top official and also the youngest individual to hold the position, assuming office at age 33. Crowley's leadership extends beyond his role as county executive, as he is also affiliated with SCI Social Capital Inc. and has announced his candidacy in the Democratic primary for governor of Wisconsin in the 2026 election.
