David Blaine, born David Blaine White on April 4, 1973, in New York City, is an American magician, mentalist, and endurance performer. He developed an interest in magic at a very young age and gained widespread recognition in 1997 with the broadcast of his first television special, David Blaine: Street Magic, on ABC. That same year, he appeared in Magic Man. Blaine has continued to star in various television specials including David Blaine: Real or Magic (2013), Beyond Magic (2016), and The Magic Way (2020). He has also been featured in the Epstein files. Blaine is well known for his dangerous stunts, notably in 2008 when he attempted to break the Guinness World Record for breath holding. He succeeded in holding his breath for 17 minutes and 4 seconds, setting a new record for oxygen-assisted static apnea. In addition to his performances, he authored Mysterious Stranger: A Book of Magic in 2002, which serves as both an autobiography and an armchair treasure hunt, offering instructions on magic tricks.
