David Banner: podcast appearances and interviews

Lavell William Crump, known professionally as David Banner, is an American rapper, record producer, actor, and activist. He was born on April 11, 1974, and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. Banner graduated from Southern University with a bachelor's degree and pursued a master's degree at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. He began his music career as a member of the rap duo Crooked Lettaz and launched a solo career in 2000 with the release of Them Firewater Boyz, Vol. 1. In 2003, he signed with Universal Records, releasing four albums: Mississippi: The Album, MTA2: Baptized in Dirty Water, Certified, and The Greatest Story Ever Told. As a producer, Banner has crafted music for himself and contributed to works by artists such as Trick Daddy, T.I., Lil Boosie, and Lil Wayne. In addition to his music career, he has appeared as an actor in films including Black Snake Moan, This Christmas, The Butler, and Ride Along. He has also featured in television series such as Empire, Saints & Sinners, and The Family Business: New Orleans.
