Dave Wright, born on 9 October 1951, is a former South African ultramarathon athlete known for his performances in some of the world's most challenging endurance events. He achieved notable success in the Comrades Marathon, winning five gold medals, and in the Two Oceans Marathon, securing three gold medals. Wright earned the nickname Dancing Dave Wright due to his tradition of crossing the finish line with a dance that resembled a combination of a tango and a waltz, followed by a cartwheel.
