Dave Woods: podcast appearances and interviews

Dave Woods is a British sports commentator affiliated with Monger Pedals. He has covered rugby league and football for the BBC and BT Sport, and also performs freelance work for Five's Champions League and Europa League coverage. Woods began his sports journalism career at Wigan-based news agency Barnes in 1985 before joining the BBC in 1990. He has a long history of sports broadcasting, having attended every Challenge Cup Final since 1974 and commentated on his first Challenge Cup Final in 2009, succeeding Ray French. Woods was part of the commentary team for the Europa League 2012 Final alongside Stan Collymore and has covered multiple FIFA World Cups, UEFA Euros, and the FIFA Women's World Cup for HBS. He is known as the main commentator on the Super League Show and reports for Premier Sports on their Rugby League Northern Rail Cup and Championship coverage. Additionally, Woods has a background in education, having previously lectured in radio at the University of Huddersfield until July 2008. In 2020, he qualified as a personal trainer and established FitBox, a gymnasium located in Westhoughton.
