David Watson, born on 20 November 1961, is an English football manager and former professional player. As a player, he functioned primarily as a centre-back from 1980 to 2001, spending his entire career with Norwich City and Everton. During his time with Everton, he played in the Premier League and was part of their FA Cup-winning team in 1995. Watson also earned 12 appearances for the England national team. After retiring from playing, he transitioned into coaching, including a stint as caretaker manager at Everton in 1997. He was appointed first team manager at Tranmere Rovers for the 2001–2002 season. His coaching career has included roles at Wigan Athletic's youth academy and Newcastle United. Watson has been involved in various capacities within professional football, contributing his experience to the development of teams and players.
